'Another Chance' for offender

3rd May 2007 in Hazlewood

'Another Chance' will demonstrate why helping to rehabilitate offenders through opening employment opportunities can provide a real benefit to your business.

Research shows that a job is one of the most important factors in helping offenders to go straight. Over seven million people in the UK are estimated to have a criminal record - in fact, one in three adult males over the age of 30 has a criminal record (excluding minor motoring offences) and so most businesses are already emploting ex-offenders. As they make up such a significant part of the workforce, it does not make good business sense to ignore such a large pool of potential employees.

Carillion and Richmond Ice Cream are just two of a number of regional companies that have successfully worked with ex-offenders to address our labour shortage and you will hear about our positive experiences.

Did you know that employers can influence the planned and delivery of offender training? Training can be developed around specific skills needed by an individual employer or an industry sector. This is particularly of value for those companies experiencing skill gaps.

By invitation only.
