In a different light: respect and reach out
Equality & Diversity Conference
This Equality and Diversity conference has been organised by the RCN Northern Region in partnership the Centre for Inclusion and Diversity at Bradford University, the RCN North West Region and the RCN Yorkshire and Humber Region.
With the introduction of new equality legislation to strengthen and develop the existing law, diversity is on everyone’s agenda. In a different light: respect and reach out, will focus on all diversity strands, raising awareness of the current issues and challenges facing people from minority groups in employment, accessing services and in everyday life. We aim to bring together colleagues from a broad range of employers and service providers to share good practices which tackle discrimination and celebrate how different backgrounds, abilities and experiences can enhance how we work together and engage with others.
We are delighted that Dr Victor Adebowale, Turning Point’s Chief Executive has agreed to make the keynote address. We are also looking forward to welcoming Ruth Hunt, Head of Policy and Research at Stonewall and Jan Berry, Chair of the Police Confederation for England and Wales as plenary speakers.
This conference will provide participants and delegates with an ideal opportunity to raise current issues related to age, race, gender, religion and belief, sexual orientation and disability. It will also enable you to network, share ideas and talk about positive outcomes share with over 200 professional colleagues from a rich diversity of organisations.
We do hope that you will take this opportunity to attend so that we can welcome you to Bradford and have the privilege of sharing in your good practice.
