Yorkshire Vybe

Yorkshire Vybe is a year-long campaign promoting Yorkshire’s African and Caribbean cultural events during 2007.

Its aims are:

to promote and raise awareness of Yorkshire’s African and Caribbean cultural events

to provide an umbrella regional marketing campaign that can be used by and give added value to events and organisations of all sizes

to support the mainstreaming of black cultural events

to highlight key events or festivals such as the Bicentenary of the Abolition of the Slave Trade in the British Empire in March and Black History Month in October.

 

Who is involved?

The campaign is an Arts Council England-Yorkshire initiative supported by Heritage Lottery Fund, MLA Yorkshire and the local authorities of Bradford, Kirklees and Leeds with Sheffield Futures. Audiences Yorkshire is delivering a regional marketing campaign, which will include the development of a brand identity, print, advertising, web and e-marketing. Anita Morris Associates is also delivering a press and PR campaign at local, regional and national level.
