The Process

Making the commitment to securing the ‘Investors in Diversity’ Standard couldn’t be simpler. While the time taken to secure accreditation will vary between organisations, we understand your concerns about over-complicated and unnecessary bureaucracy unrelated to your needs, therefore we have adopted a user friendly process.

Next Steps

  1. On Line-Registration - Once your organisation has made a decision to pursue the Standard, you can register on line immediately as a candidate organisation which is ‘working towards the ‘Investor in Diversity’ standard.

  2. Contact from the Centre for Diversity - Shortly after you register on line, the Centre will contact you in order to arrange a visit by one of our approved IiD Advisors.

  3. Day 1 Support – The IiD Standard explained. This will last a maximum of up to eight hours and is the first visit in a two-day package of support offered by the Centre for Diversity. This support will enable you to attain a detailed understanding of IiD and your next steps. Following, the first day of support, you will be given a mutually agreed amount of time to make progress against the requirements of the IiD standard. Your IiD Advisor will explain things and prepare you to plan and deliver against the requirements of the IiD standard. By this stage you should be confident about what to do. Your IiD Advisor will be able to assist you as you go.

  4. Day 2 Support - The Shared Review. This support comes in the shape of a shared review between you and the IiD Advisor. At the conclusion of the day, your Advisor can give you an indication of how much progress you have made and when you may be ready to undertake an assessment.

  5. Formal Assessment - At this point you will be formally assessed by an independent Centre for Diversity Approved IiD Assessor. If you are successful you will assume the status of an ‘Investors in Diversity’ accredited organisation for a period of two years after which, you will be able to be re-assessed.

  6. Leaders in Diversity - Once the impact of your work on diversity is able to be measured in the longer term, not less than two years , you may well be able to become accredited as a ‘Leader in Diversity’ Please remember, that the Centre aims to support organisations that are positive about diversity.

  7. Your consultant will be able to advise you on the timescale appropriate to you at your first meeting.

We’re here to help and will be happy to give advice and support at all stages throughout the process.
