Biography
Norma is the Internal Operations Manager at Groundwork NW and has worked there since 1999. Groundwork is a national environmental regeneration charity that supports communities in need, working with partners to help improve the quality of people’s lives, their prospects and potential and the places where they live, work and play.
Her responsibilities include co-ordinating internal practitioner networks, developing a regional training programme and supporting the governance structures of a complex federal organisation. Norma has pioneered the introduction of a competences framework for staff that is changing the way that Groundwork supports staff development.
Norma has championed diversity within Groundwork Northwest, introducing training for both staff and trustees. She has worked with both staff and board members to examine how better practices can be introduced across the various business units and areas of work.
Prior to joining Groundwork, Norma carried out a variety of roles in the voluntary sector including working for the European Youth Forum in Brussels and the British Youth Council in London.
