Student Unions

  • Student Union clients at National Centre for Diversity

The National Centre for Diversity has a long history of working with Student Unions and we have built up a real expertise over the last 10 years of doing so.

We are told by our student unions that they value the fact that we can bring our experience of working with numerous other sectors to their organisations.

It is a sector that genuinely is morally committed to EDI and wants to improve. Student unions come to us because they welcome the fact that we can conduct equality impact assessments, provide support to help them improve and achieve culture shifts (or change if needed), that we can measure improvement and then provide them with highly prestigious recognition for their improvement.

The National Centre for Diversity is currently working with some forward-looking Student unions such as:

  • Bath Spa University Students’ Union
  • Bournemouth Students’ Union
  • Kent Union
  • Solent Students’ Union (Southampton Solent)
  • University of Bath Students’ Union
  • University of Bristol Students’ Union
  • NUS Group

These companies have all voluntarily signed up to either Investors in Diversity or Leaders in Diversity

They are working with us because they want to become more equitable, diverse and inclusive of all the groups protected under the Equality Act 2010.

Investors in Diversity & Leaders in Diversity

The Investors in Diversity Award is recognised as much more than just a highly prized and prestigious quality mark. It provides an all-encompassing methodology for improving Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) practices in the workplace. Those that achieve the Investors in Diversity Award have been enabled to take a structured and planned approach to embedding EDI at the heart of what they do. It also provides an excellent framework to bring together all of an organisation’s work around EDI.
